Verified ReviewerUnfair price gouging and harassment
This company inflated their price per hour as well as the amount charged for overtime. They called me mid-move and threatened to hold my belongings if I did not pay an extra $328 for 30 minutes of overtime, and then revised their extortion amount to $468.
I was not credited for the $100, and I paid the entire bill upfront for 4 hours.
Do not use this company. They have unfair business practices.
Preferred solution: I would like to stop the harassment and bullying of the company to a senior citizen.

Verified ReviewerOne experienced mover. And my piano is damaged beyond repair
I called all my sons and explained that I had an upright concert grand piano. They assured me that they had experienced movers who could handle my piano.
It's damaged beyond repair.
My new house has *** in the door frame. It was just horrible, mainly because the movers were not certified or experienced.

I'm in total shock. I used this company to move a single bedroom (not a one bedroom apartment a single room) and mini fridge for my daughter 3.8 miles in between apartments.
Note it was a bedroom queen bed w/metal frame no head board, tall dresser night stand, 2 TV's, tall lamp, few lamps, a tall mirror and a TV stand. Plus a few misc. boxes of clothing and a misc kitchen box. NO OTHER FURNITURE!
The total charge was just shy of $1,000!!! Yes you read that right it is not a typo. In addition to the movers made my daughter very uncomfortable. I am just astonished!
I moved all this furniture in a year ago and it took me and my husband two hours. How they claim it was over 5 hours is ridiculous. Buyer beware, they do not present as an honest company.
Also my daughter gave her address which was correct, they showed up at a different address, not sure where but called mad, it was there error. STAY AWAY is my advise...

Verified ReviewerQuote one price. Hit you with 30-40% up charge because the price they give you is NON BINDING is their world and then hold your belongings hostage until you pay what ever amount their conjure up.
Overcharged from recorded line price. Held furniture hostage in truck and told if we did not pay an additional 33% increase from the quote, they were taking our furniture.
This morning, after paying the fee, we were told we have amnesia and have a short memory. Note: Do not use!!

BEWARE
I DO NOT RECOMMEND. My daughter used this company August 2024, quoted her $159 an hour, expected $477 for the move.
It was a very small, 1 bedroom apartment, 6 miles of travel but they ended up charging her $930. They used materials she didn't request or at least charged her for them. There were fees added in that they never told her about for fuel and travel. I made several calls to refund her money, the manager refunded $79 and said take it or leave it.
No one responds to emails or it's a generic message. Only thing left to do is contact BBB, FTC, news stations etc and report these crooks!

Riduliously to much money a rip off. I have never seen any thing like it. Never again will I use this service and I am reporting to better business bureau
Avoid this group at all costs
I would NOT recommend All My Sons moving company to anyone considering a moving Company. What was the most interesting thing about our experience with All My Sons was how awful it was, before, during, and after the move.
Our move was extremely simple, moving 6 items from one apartment to another only 25 minutes away.
Before we decided on All My Sons, I called the number on the website and got a very helpful person who told me that the date we were looking for was available and that she would add a note stating we needed the move to occur in the morning. At that time, I provided a $100.00 deposit. The next day I got a call stating that the only time available was in the afternoon, not the morning. This was my first encounter with Lawrence who runs the Raleigh office.
Lawrence told me that my first call was to "A call center in Dallas" and they wouldn't be aware of the Raleigh office's specific schedule - something in today's day I find hard to believe. He was inflexible, and his tone was such that it was my fault I called the call center and not his problem. We adjusted our schedule that day and moved on.
More fun with All My Sons on moving day. For clarity, I should share there was an hourly charge ($178) for the crew and the time it took would be how the bill would be based plus one hour charge for transportation before and after the actual move.
The crew arrived at 2:15 and took almost three hours to move 6 items 25 minutes. But here is what we learned after the fact.
They over-reported their arrival and departure times by 15 minutes adding 30 minutes to our bill
They took an additional 15 - 20 minutes to get from the old apartment to the new apartment. We left at the same time and we arrived there and waited 15 - 20 minutes for them to show. Based on Lawrence's response later on this appears to be a standard practice to get what they can from people who don't pay attention.
They sat and did nothing for 45 minutes while another truck was unloading.
They over-packaged and wrapped the 6 items and charged us $150.00 for plastic wrap, one box, and tape for 6 items - only 4 of which needed to be wrapped.
They delivered a white sofa with a ton of dirt and stains on it to the point where we needed to get it cleaned.
They demanded payment ahead of delivering the furniture - made us feel like our stuff was kidnapped.
In short, the movers were not urgent, overly intentional, and purposefully slow.
After the move is where things got interesting.
I called Lawrence to share my displeasure with a $900 + bill to move 6 items 25 minutes away (It cost us $500 to move into that apartment 6 months ago). Lawrence was transparent about the crew over-reporting their times and credited us with 45 minutes, but nothing more. He was super inflexible and refused to provide a supervisor's name to escalate to. I went on to find the email addresses of the CEO, Robert Peterson, and the President, Chris Generale.
When I sent them emails, they both bounced because my gmail address wasn't a "trusted address". After several other calls and attempts to resolve this issue, I quickly learned no one at their corporate office wanted to talk with All My Sons customers and the call center folks just tell you there is "nothing anyone is going to do" to help resolve an issue. As a matter of fact their "Contact Us" page on their website is non functional, cannot even send them a note or email about any issues.
We gave them several opportunities to make this right, shared exactly to the minute wehre we were overcharged and asked for the $900+ bill be brought down to $600 again to move 6 items 25 minutes away. I made the mistake of not checking reviews on these guys because it was a small, simple move.
After the fact, we learned that the All My Sons moving company is one of if not the LOWEST-RATED movers we could have hired.
Shame on us for not checking first.
To recap this organization is architected in a way to close all the business possible on the phone even if it means misleading people, then they will do everything they can to extract as much money as possible out of their customers, then when you want to talk through your experience with someone, they are unwilling to listen, and set up so that you cannot escalate to anyone in a leadership position.
Don't make the same mistake I made, there are plenty of other options out there. Steer clear of this group for any size move or you will find yourself writing a review like this one

- During and after the move

Verified ReviewerTerrible
What an awful experience I had with this company's crew. First, they arrived over an hour late.
Secondly, the guy driving the truck could not even drive a truck. He almost came into the parking lot through the sidewalk. Then he spent the first 15 minutes trying to sell me boxes, and telling me I was a typical woman because I didn't want to buy boxes. Then he spent about 10 minutes moving the first piece of furniture from my doorway to the top of the steps by himself.
He said he could do it on his own, but he was making noises as if he couldn't lift it. I told him he should get the other guy to help him. From that point on, things got so much worse. He ended up saying he wasn't going to do the move, and I called the number to let them know.
They informed me that they could get another crew out later today, but I had reserved the morning to move into my old apartment and into my new one, and being an hour late had already set us back. Terrible, terrible, terrible.

Verified ReviewerUsed their moving services, move was incomplete, items broken were not covered and managment was rude.
I used this moving service at the end of February, my funding fell through for the home I was moving into. Luckily the new home allowed me to items t move my items there until I figured out new funding.
In the meantime, I notice a few items were broken. I was locked out of the home until this past week and found several other items were damaged and broken. I submitted a claim on the first items, but they only offered me 100.00 which was ridiculous. Once I entered my home this past week I found several items were broken, I removed the plastic of one of the dressers, and it literally fell apart.
No one will listen to me and are literally rude over the phone. I couldn't let them know before, as I was locked out of the home until now. Rudest people ever, no one even wants to listen. Never use this horrible company!!
Don't waste your money. Beds were never set up, not all furniture was moved, and the staff spent much of their time on their phones instead of concentrating on the move.

Verified ReviewerSevere Negligence and Damages Resulting from Recent Move and then pitiful and insulting settlement offer
To all concerned,
I am writing to share a nightmarish tale that my 67-year-old mother and my 90-year-old grandmother endured during their recent move with All My Sons Moving & Storage / Business Development, LLC. Prepare yourselves, for this is a story of unfathomable incompetence, deceit, and utter disrespect towards my vulnerable family members.
On July 5 (moving day), my mother, a dedicated registered nurse, and my grandmother placed their trust in the company's full-service package, believing it would provide them with the professional packing they needed for a stress-free relocation.
The movers appeared competent initially, as they packed one box with care while my mother and grandmother watched in relief, thinking their cherished belongings were in capable hands. But that trust was shattered as soon as my mother and grandmother left the movers to handle the rest. Unbeknownst to them, the movers saw an opportunity to take advantage of two women who were dealing with immense stress and vulnerability. What followed was a horrifying act of recklessness and carelessness that defies comprehension.
The movers threw everything into boxes with reckless abandon, showing no regard for the fragility or value of the items.
Glassware was piled on top of glassware, precious Waterford Crystal treated with the same indifference as ordinary kitchenware. Delicate and sentimental oil paintings were carelessly thrown in with no protective styrofoam, paper, or bubble wrap to shield them from harm.
Imagine the devastation my mother and grandmother felt when they finally unpacked at their new home, only to find a heart-wrenching scene of shattered glass, broken heirlooms, and damaged artwork and furniture. Their cherished possessions, with decades of sentimental significance, lay in ruins, forever lost to their family's history.
To make matters even worse, the movers exhibited a complete disregard for the promised professional setup in the new apartment. Items were dumped haphazardly, creating chaos and adding insult to injury.
This was not the seamless and stress-free relocation my mother had paid for; it was a nightmare beyond imagination.
Throughout this ordeal, my grandmother, already grappling with health issues and mourning the loss of her husband of 65 years, endured further anguish. The movers' exploitation of their vulnerability compounded her emotional and physical struggles, leaving her feeling betrayed and utterly devastated.
How do you put monetary value on the damage to an original oil painting of my recently deceased grandfather, which held significant sentimental value as it had hung in his law firm for over 50 years, or my grandmother's own original oil paintings, a testament to her artistic talent and exhibited in various art shows in Pittsburgh throughout the years, that was severely damaged with the oil chipped off. What about furniture which held immense sentimental value; an antique desk, which had been my grandfather's law desk for over 50 years, was irreparably damaged during the move. The emotional toll of losing these cherished possessions is immeasurable.
As if the damage inflicted on their possessions wasn't enough, the company's response has been nothing short of callous.
Their settlement offer, an insultingly low amount based on weight alone, is a cruel reminder of their complete lack of empathy and accountability.
Despite my mother's diligent correspondence with the company's representatives, Eric Longhofer, Geoff Brugess, and Leona Maroney, via email, and providing extensive photographic evidence of the devastation, there has been a disturbing lack of urgency and response from their customer care department. All of this has left my mother navigating this distressing situation alone, enduring significant financial setbacks, emotional turmoil, and undue stress.
Now, after all the pain and suffering they have caused, their settlement offer is nothing short of insulting. To reduce the worth of our cherished possessions to mere weight and offer a paltry sum in compensation is a gross understatement of the damages incurred.
The settlement offer, which was received yesterday Geoff Burgess, from All My Sons Business Development, LLC, in response to the severe damages and losses my mother, Michaele Martino, and my grandmother experienced during their recent move, is not only insulting but deeply disappointing, considering the extent of negligence displayed by the company.
Their settlement offer, provided via DocuSign, claims to have significantly increased the offer from their legal liability limits of just $0.60 per pound per item. According to their calculation based on this guideline from the Department of Transportation, they have arrived at a paltry sum of $186.
Let me emphasize that this is an appalling and unacceptable amount, given the scale of the damages and losses they incurred.
They stated that they increased the amount to $708 in light of the concerns we expressed. However, this revised offer still falls woefully short of addressing the true value of the irreparably damaged and missing items, not to mention the emotional distress caused by their incompetence and negligence.
To evaluate our losses based solely on weight is an insult to our intelligence and a dismissive approach to our legitimate grievances. How can they put a value on sentimental family heirlooms, antiques, collector's items, and original artwork by my mother? To reduce these items to mere weight is a gross oversimplification of their worth and significance to our family.
Furthermore, the offer doesnt even address the amount my mom spent on the move itself which was $2776.
We want to make it crystal clear that their settlement offer is entirely unacceptable. We have already invested considerable time, effort, and resources in documenting the damages and engaging in discussions with their representatives. To be presented with such an insulting offer demonstrates a complete lack of accountability and concern for the distress caused to our family.
We refuse to be silenced in the face of such a heartless act.
We will not rest until justice is served, and my mother and grandmother are rightfully compensated for the unspeakable horrors they endured at the hands of All My Sons Moving & Storage / Business Development, LLC.
To all who may consider this company for your moving needs, I implore you to think twice and consider the devastating consequences that my family experienced. We will not stop until we see accountability, and we will not be silenced until our voices are heard.
Sincerely,
Alexis Ottier

I'm missing a glass top for my coffee table
Other than the coffee table glass, I miss all of my tools. I had two drills.
All of my yardwork tools are gone so much of my stuff is gone. It seems like I have a truck full of stuff is missing. I would like to have my things back. My weedeater hedge trimmer, two coffee pots ones a bun and once a cake cup a big garage pan a bowl of toilet paper and paper towels from Costcos never been open white round patio table ninja bullet to make shakes my sons baby pictures he is no longer with me and I have no pictures, its very sad the way they did me.
I know this wont get posted because its a complaint not good to say about any body a large turkey white platter a lot of my lock and locks, but I have no lids several lock and lock no burn gloves, my mother, which is no longer with me set of her iron skillets , a whole set of copper pans with lid should I go on? Theres so much missing so sad. I just want my stuff back please the truck that took it they know who did it and I know its not just sitting there. Someone took my stuff and probably sold it , Im very upset specially, about my sons baby pictures and like I say I no longer have my son.
He passed away so please somebody out there.
Help me get my stuff back thank you and have a wonderful day. God bless.
User's recommendation: My recommendation is when a truck loads your stuff put your own lock on it and keep the key until it’s time for you to open and do not let them takeoff with the truck like they did me they went to Orlando for the night and then the following morning Brought my stuff to Port St. Lucie Florida that’s when all my stuff started disappearing so don’t trust no matter what because I don’t such a shame work all your life to have something and then just out of the blue strangers comes in and just takes it from you and you trust him, they taught me a lesson
Bait and switch, liars!
wish I had read their reviews before hiring them! they quoted be over the phone, not once but twice, I told them what I had to move and that it was 29 steps to the apartment on the second floor, they assured me that 3 to 4 hours max at 159 per hour, with travel time.
I told them that was all I could afford and not a penny more, I also told them that If they thought it was going to go over to cancel the appointment right then, they said oh no, you'll be fine. on the second call they informed me of materials they may need and they would supply them but there would be a charge for anything other than blankets. I went and bought the materials myself at Walmart for a 3rd of the cost and had it all set up as I couldn't afford their rates for bags for the beds and I told them I would be doing this, they said ok.they had my 100.00 deposit, they confirmed this past Monday, I confirmed for a third time that it couldn't go over 632.00 total, they agreed. they sent 2 very nice young men to my apartment to move a washer, dryer, a king size bed with frame, 2 chest of drawers, a dresser, a couch, a chair and a desk.
they drove it 20 minutes up and before unloading they told me my total for 4.25 hours was 850.00 less the 100.00 deposit. I explained to them that I did not have that much, I told them that I've told them this from the beginning, they said they would honor 632.00 as the balance not including the 100.00 deposit when I told them I only had 537.00 to my name, they instructed the driver to drive back to the complex and bring it back up 29 stairs.
what a *** show and con operation they are running. I will be filing a complaint with the better business bureau as I have all 3 conversations recorded!
User's recommendation: Don’t use this bait and switch pos company

They should definitely have been more up front and given a range, $6-800, since each move is different in conditions other than actual items. It’s too bad that $100 was the deal breaker. It’s going to be hard to find two people to load down 29!steps then unload elsewhere for $732 for four hours of work.
